Privacy policy

Effective 12 October 2026. This policy explains what the Pakistan Chamber of Education ("the association", "we") collects through the PCE mobile app and this website, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

What we collect

Account details: your name, mobile number, optional email address, and a password (stored only in scrambled, one-way form — we cannot read it).
Your school: the school you are attached to and your role there (owner, principal and so on).
Membership: when you apply, your CNIC number, a photo of your face for your membership card, the name to print on your card, and the address where your printed card kit is delivered; your membership number, validity dates, and payment references (voucher and receipt numbers).
Profile photo, if you choose to add one.
What you send us: submissions and messages to the office, poll votes, and requests made through this website.
Device and technical information: a notification token so we can send you alerts, the app version, and server logs (such as IP address and time of request) kept for security.
App usage and crash reports: which screens are opened, and technical details when the app crashes (device model, operating system, app version), so we can fix problems and improve the app.
Records the office keeps for administration, such as offices you hold in the association and notes about contact with you.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, or advertising identifiers. The app shows no advertising, and we do not sell your information.

Your CNIC and photo

We collect your CNIC number and a photo of your face for two purposes only: to verify your identity as the owner or head of your school, and to print your membership card. Both are linked to your account. They are never used to track you, never used for advertising, and never shared with other apps or data brokers. Your CNIC is printed only on the back of your card.

Payments

Membership dues and the printed card kit (card, card holder, lanyard and courier delivery) are paid through your own bank, ATM, or wallet using 1LINK 1Bill. We receive only the confirmation that a payment was made and its reference. We never receive your card number, bank account, or banking passwords.

How we use your information

To create and run your account and confirm your identity when you sign in.
To process membership applications, verify your identity, and print and deliver your membership card.
To send you circulars, news, poll invitations, and notices from the association.
To run the member directory: registered members can see school listings, and contact details are shown only as the directory rules allow.
To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
To meet the association's accounting and legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that run the service for us, and only what each needs:

Our hosting provider, which stores the app's data on secured servers.
An SMS provider, to send sign-in codes and notices by text message.
Google Firebase, to deliver app notifications (Cloud Messaging), measure app usage (Analytics), and report crashes (Crashlytics).
1LINK and the banks, to process fee payments.
A courier service, which receives your name, phone number, school and delivery address to deliver your card kit.

We may disclose information where the law requires it. We never sell or rent personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. Payment records are kept as the association's accounts require.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time: in the app, go to Profile → Delete account, or use the Delete account page on this website. Your account is then scheduled for deletion and deleted 14 days later; until then you can sign in and restore it. Once deleted, your personal data — name, phone number, email, photos, CNIC, membership card, and profile — is deleted from the app, and your mobile number can be used to create a new account.

Keeping it safe

All traffic between the app, the website, and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored in one-way scrambled form. Only authorised association staff can see member records, and their access is recorded.

Children

The PCE app is for school owners, principals, and administrators. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices and rights

See and correct your details in the app under Profile.
Turn notifications on or off in the app's settings or your phone's settings.
Delete your account as described above.
Contact us with any question or request about your information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
